Yor-aims provides a family mediation service. We carry out child only, property and finance and all issues mediation. If you are both paying privately, you can choose between sole and co-mediation. If public funding is involved, normally co-mediation is offered only for all issues work. In co-mediation two mediators work with each couple. One of these mediators has a background in working with children in the law and the other is an experienced family lawyer. In sole mediation, if child only, the mediator will usually be one of the non-lawyer mediators who is well used to dealing with children in a legal setting. If it is property and finance only, the mediator will be a family lawyer. All matters involving finances will have a lawyer mediator.The mediators work with you only as mediators, go betweens and facilitators, bringing a balance to the discussions.

They add their own experience and knowledge to the process. The choices and decisions however always remain your own. We do give legal information, such as about the factors which a Court would take in to account, but only on an impartial basis.We only provide legal, financial and other information in a neutral way so that you can fully understand all the options available to you.All the people here at Yor-aims practice mediation because we all believe that it is both a sensible and civilised way to resolve the disputes which can occur when a relationship ends.
